About Our Client
Our client is one of the largest diversified contractors of their type in the world. With over 40 year’s experience & a fleet of Specialised Plant & Equipment across Australia our client is a leading the way delivering major projects for diversified services including closure studies and decommissioning, deconstruction and demolition, civil engineering and construction, landscaping and external works, resource recovery and waste management, asbestos removal and disposal, site remediation, rehabilitation and revegetation, and heavy plant rental.
About the Opportunity
We are seeking experienced Leading Hand to join our client. This is a permanent, full-time position offering job security and long-term career growth.
As a Leading Hand, you will be responsible for coordinating and allocating resources, overseeing daily site activities, and ensuring smooth operations on various road construction and maintenance projects. Your leadership will be essential in managing subcontractors, driving a strong safety culture, and maintaining compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead a team of skilled construction workers to deliver high-quality civil projects.
- Manage daily site operations, ensuring work is completed on time and within budget.
- Effectively allocate resources, including plant, equipment, and personnel.
- Promote and uphold an injury-free safety culture, ensuring HSE compliance.
- Liaise with stakeholders, subcontractors, and project managers to achieve key milestones.
- Troubleshoot challenges on-site with a proactive and solutions-focused mindset.
What We’re Looking For:
- 3+ years’ experience in civil construction, specifically in large Tier 1 Civil, roadworks or infrastructure projects
- Proven success in managing construction teams and delivering projects efficiently.
- Strong leadership and communication skills to engage with teams and stakeholders.
- A “can-do” attitude with the ability to adapt to project demands and problem-solve.
- Full Australian working rights.
- Flexible approach to working rosters (negotiable to suit work-life balance).
