ABOUT THE COMPANY.

Join a team of industry professionals within a Sydney Local Council as a Senior Town Planner. Immediate start till June 2025. This role will be based in the office full-time, Monday - Friday, 35 hours per week. Please be advised that we cannot consider any applicants who have leave planned during this time.

ABOUT THE POSITION.

As a Senior Town Planner you report to the Team Leader and will be responsible for coordinating Council reports to planning panels, assess and report on complex development applications and act as an expert witness in the Land and Environment Court if required. You will also play a crucial role in assisting other more junior development planners and staff in assessing development applications and interpreting planning issues.

DUTIES.

• Coordinating Council reports to planning panels
• Assess and report on complex development applications and liaise with the public and developers
• Providing written and verbal advice regarding land use, zoning, planning legislation, Council policies and procedures
• Assisting and mentoring junior development planners and staff

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE.

• Degree qualifications in Town Planning or related
• Excellent leadership and conflict resolution skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proven ability to work in a team and autonomously
