Tiwi Islands Regional Council is the heart of community support and infrastructure on Bathurst and Melville Islands. As a lead organisation in maintaining essential community services, we are dedicated to ensuring the smooth operation of our island's infrastructure to serve our vibrant community.

The islands are home to the Tiwi people, who have a strong affiliation with their land and waterways, along with distinctive culture and language. There are school and medical facilities on the islands, with regular plane, passenger ferry and barge services operating to Darwin.

Role

Reporting directly to the CEO and as a senior executive within Council, you will work closely with your team to deliver on all aspects of reporting on the financial performance and position of Council.

You will be responsible for providing comprehensive oversight of Councils revenue streams, operational and capital costs.

There will also be a specific focus on instilling a team culture based on customer-focus and a genuine commitment to excellence.

You

You will have a track record in leading finance and accounting functions within Local Government.

You excel in financial management and planning, adeptly handle political sensitivities while quickly establish collaborative partnerships with diverse stakeholders with diverse priorities and agendas.

You thrive in both strategic and operational roles, consistently delivering a quality service to the business.

You possess tertiary qualifications in Finance/Accounting, broad demonstrated experience in accounting focused on applying Australian accounting standards.

Perks

You will receive 6-weeks annual leave per year along with a salary between $145,000 and $155,000 (plus superannuation).
