About the Role

As the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you will be a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for providing reporting and business insights, driving operational and systems effectiveness and efficiency and helping deliver sustainable growth. You will also be responsible for all key financial systems, the accounting function, budgeting and forecasting, cash control, regulatory compliance, acquisition diligence and integration and risk management.

What You’ll Do:

Identify and present timely, meaningful and actionable insights to the Board, CEO and business unit managers

Oversee and refine group financial systems and operations to ensure that they are seamless, that appropriate data is captured, and reporting is accurate and useful

Own the group financial model to deliver accurate budgets and forecasts and strong cashflow management

Oversee all facets of regulatory compliance including income tax, GST/PAYG, payroll tax, workers compensation, employee awards, building licence regulators etc

Work with the executive team to assess, diligence and integrate acquisitions with a focus on extracting identified acquisition synergies

Provide leadership, development and training initiatives for the DPS team

The role will require some travel from time-to-time

What You’ll Bring:

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a financial leadership role, ideally in a medium-sized Australian company with material, inventory management requirements

Multi-site retail and ecommerce experience will be viewed favourably but is not essential

Proven experience in delivering accurate and effective financial and management reporting and budgeting/forecasting to drive decisions and results

Sound knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements

Experience with some of the following systems:

Lightspeed – retail POS

Unleashed – inventory management

Shopify – ecommerce

Xero – AR/ AP, general ledger and payroll

Data warehouse solution – automated reporting solution

Excel – budgeting / forecasting

Background in a medium to large private business, private equity or experience scaling a business through growth or transformation would be ideal

Proven experience reporting and presenting to Boards, shareholders and external stakeholders (eg. Banks)
