Mobile Apps Support Specialist - Parks & Nature Meets Tech

Are you passionate about mobile technology and nature? We’re looking for a down-to-earth mobile app support team to take the reins of a suite of beautifully built iOS and Android apps showcasing some of Australia’s most iconic parks and gardens.

This is more than just maintenance. It’s about ensuring intuitive, reliable, and accessible digital experiences for the millions who explore Australia’s natural and cultural treasures—through apps designed to inspire, inform, and connect.

About the Role

We’re seeking a skilled, personable provider (or specialist team) who can seamlessly support and maintain Parks Australia’s existing suite of mobile apps. Built in React Native and already live on the app stores, your mission is to keep them running smoothly, safely, and securely, while anticipating any platform changes that could affect publishing or performance.

You’ll be the safe pair of hands that ensures bug fixes, performance updates, and compliance with the latest OS updates happen without fuss or delay.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Provide timely support (1-day for critical, 1-week for standard) for technical issues
• Monitor and maintain security, stability, and publishing readiness
• Proactively flag and implement tech updates (e.g., OS, API, cybersecurity)
• Work within Australian Government standards
• Communicate clearly with the Parks team about app health, changes, and updates

Tech You’ll Need to Know

• Frameworks & Code: React Native, JavaScript (ES6), Tailwind CSS, Expo
• Cloud & Infra: AWS Lambda
• Tools & Integrations: GitHub + GitHub Actions, Google Firebase, Google Maps API, MapTiler
• Extras: Experience with restricted API monitoring & system diagnostics

• A communicator who’s as comfortable writing GitHub notes as they are chatting with stakeholders

Security Clearance
