Band 7 Salary: $105,380.60 - $117,233.48 plus 11.5 % super

About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and passionate individual to oversee the Sustainability team including waste management, kerbside bin reform, urban amenity and utilities.
You will provide leadership in transitioning waste and recycling services, preparing and delivering new waste and resource recovery service contracts, as well as developing and implementing strategies to achieve utility savings and reduce consumption.
Key areas:
- waste services and contract management
- kerbside reform
- urban amenity
- overseeing waste and resource recovery education and engagement
- climate change and sustainability including energy efficiency.
About you:
The ideal candidate will have:
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline with several years of experience, or lesser formal qualification with extensive relevant experience
- Experience in resource recovery or environmental sustainability, with proven contract management and budgeting experience.
- Proven track record in leading and delivering operational programs, projects, and contract management
- Strong analytical reasoning and negotiation skills
- Effective leadership skills and commitment to best practices
- Excellent communication skills within project governance, project implementation and stakeholder engagement
- High level of interpersonal skills for consulting, liaising, and negotiating
- Strong organisational, written and verbal communication skills.
