About the Role:
Our client is a large cluster of the NSW State Government who are looking for a Sustainability Officer to sit within the Asset Management team and drive environmental outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Support the implementation of the organisation’s Sustainability Strategy across energy, carbon, waste, water, transport and resilience programs
• Deliver expert sustainability advice, including on energy efficiency, emissions reduction, climate resilience, and Green Star integration
• Drive internal governance and compliance for environmental data, policies, reporting, and voluntary disclosure programs
• Work with a range of stakeholders to embed sustainability objectives into asset lifecycle planning and daily operations
• Lead stakeholder engagement, communication campaigns and training initiatives to build a strong sustainability culture

Requirements:

• Must have previous experience in a similar role, ideally working for the Government, or a service provider consulting to the Government.
• Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience
• Strong background in delivering sustainability initiatives in large, decentralised organisations
• Demonstrated knowledge of environmental reporting standards (e.g. NGER, TEFMA) and sustainability best practices within the built environment
