About the Role:
INDEX Consultants are seeking an experienced IT SecOps Lead to work with a Public Sector client in Victoria. The IT Security Operations Lead, will play a crucial role in overseeing and enhancing the cybersecurity posture for our client. This is a hands-on role focused on safeguarding systems through monitoring, incident response, and effective threat management. You'll work alongside technical teams to ensure robust security operations in a fast-paced environment.

Key Deliverables:

• Lead security operations and oversee threat detection using Microsoft Defender and Sentinel.
• Manage and respond to cyber events through log analysis and incident handling processes.
• Maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot Palo Alto firewalls and related network security controls.
• Oversee patching and vulnerability remediation in coordination with IT Ops teams.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure continuous improvement of SecOps practices and documentation.

Skills Requirement:

• Lead security operations and oversee threat detection using Microsoft Defender and Sentinel.
• Exposure to ZScaler and Proofpoint email/web security solutions would be an added plus
• Manage and respond to cyber events through log analysis and incident handling processes.
• Maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot Palo Alto firewalls and related network security controls.
• Oversee patching and vulnerability remediation in coordination with IT Ops teams.
• Based in Melbourne.
• You must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident to be considered for this role.
