About the role

We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join the team at the Golden Fleece Hotel in Gawler, South Australia. As Sous Chef, you will play a key role in supporting the Head Chef in the day-to-day operations of our bustling kitchen. This full-time position will see you collaborating closely with the kitchen team to deliver consistently high-quality meals to our guests.

What you'll be doing

Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, development and implementation

Oversee the preparation and presentation of all food items

Ensure adherence to health, safety and hygiene standards at all times

Monitor stock levels and place orders as required

Train, supervise and motivate the kitchen team

Contribute to the continuous improvement of kitchen operations

What we're looking for

Minimum 2 years' experience as a Sous Chef or equivalent role in a similar hospitality environment

Strong technical cooking skills and knowledge of a variety of cuisines

Excellent time management and organisational abilities

Proven track record of leading and developing a kitchen team

Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills

Passion for using fresh, high-quality ingredients

Current Food Safety Supervisor certificate
