Legal Assistant/Conveyancing Administrator
Are you an organised, detail-oriented individual with a passion for property and legal administration? Our client, a well-known law firm is looking for someone to join their residential and commercial conveyancing team in Melbourne. They are currently seeking a proactive Administrative Assistant / Conveyancing Administrator to work closely with and support the property Conveyancer with the day-to-day caseload and administrative process.
About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience or interest in conveyancing, legal administration, or real estate to join a professional, fast-paced environment. You'll play a key role in ensuring transactions proceed smoothly and efficiently, while gaining exposure to a broad range of property matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide vital administrative support to the Conveyancer handling residential and/or commercial property files.
- Assist with processing of standard legal documents, contracts, and general correspondence.
- Manage file opening and post-completion tasks.
- Monitoring of daily inbox emails.
- Liaise with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, and other third parties.
- Maintain accurate records.
Ideal Candidate
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in an administrative or legal administrative role, ideally within real estate/property or supporting a Conveyancer.
- Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proven ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Capable of meeting critical deadlines consistently.
- Familiarity with legal document management systems (e.g., Aderant) is a plus, though not essential.
- Please note - this role is not suitable for candidates currently undertaking a law degree.
