Are you a skilled Data Manager with a passion for managing critical systems that protect Australia's borders? We’re seeking a proactive and experienced professional to join our high-impact team working on the Australian Maritime Identification System (AMIS).

This role offers you the chance to play a key part in one of Australia’s most important cybersecurity and geospatial intelligence projects.

Key Duties:

• Design, develop, and maintain database architectures with a focus on high availability and disaster recovery.
• Monitor and optimise performance across complex, high-volume environments.
• Lead migration, patching, configuration, and testing activities.
• Ensure secure and structured data management processes across the enterprise.
• Provide technical advice and collaborate on SQL optimisation and system integration.
• Support storage management, backup solutions, and contribute to cybersecurity improvements.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation, workflows, and implementation plans.
• Uphold compliance with integrity and professional standards across all work.

About You:

Essential

• Proven experience in data management, database design, and storage strategy.
• Expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, transactional and analytical systems.
• Familiarity with geospatial data formats and cloud platforms (AWS or Azure).
• Understanding of data governance, ethics, and secure information access.
• Strong scripting, documentation, and automation skills.
• Ability to work on-call and respond promptly during critical incidents.

Desirable

• Experience with geospatial databases and ServiceNow/HP TRIM.
• Involvement in complex ICT and cybersecurity projects.
