About the Roles
We’re looking for passionate individuals to join our team as Aboriginal Health Promotion Officers in Armadale and Parmelia.
Each officer will lead localised initiatives that connect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients with wellness services, health plans, and community programs – improving outcomes at a grassroots level.
Your Role Will Include:
Leading the Aboriginal Health Promotion Officers at your location (e.g. walking groups, men’s groups, yarning circles, health workshops)
Creating strong referral pathways to connect clients with other MKAC Health and Wellness services
Supporting GP Management Plans and Adult Health Checks through proactive wellness engagement
Promoting Closing the Gap initiatives through outreach and education
Helping clients attend regular reviews with their GPs and other care providers
What You’ll Bring to the Role
Essential Qualifications & Requirements:
Certificate IV in Aboriginal Health Practice or equivalent
WA Driver’s Licence
National Police Clearance
Working with Children Check
First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate
Skills & Attributes:
Excellent verbal and written communication
Self-starter with strong initiative
Comfortable using computers and software tools
Deep understanding of local Aboriginal health issues
Ability to build and maintain community relationships
Strong planning and organisation skills
Team player who can also work independently
