💼 Let’s talk about the role:
As a Health Promotion Officer, you will work on health promotion and engagement initiatives using a systems-thinking approach across Mitchell and Murrindindi Local Government Areas. A major part of this role will be to work collaboratively under the Lower Hume Prevention Collaborative Action Plan which aims to improve health, inclusion and equity in the community.
You will also be required to rotate through all Nexus locations (Wallan, Broadford, Seymour and Kinglake).
✍️To be successful in this role, you will have:
A degree and experience in Health Promotion, Social Science, Public Health, or related field.
An understanding of Health Promotion theory, including the social-economic model of health.
Great communication skills and an ability to think on your feet.
Ability to undertake community engagement, build relationships and facilitate collaborative partnerships
Experience with a variety of digital platforms
Ability to identify information, data, tools and resources to build knowledge, evidence based and inform collaborative decision-making.
Experience in influencing or supporting policy, delivering, or coordinating education and sourcing or developing resources.
A current driver's licence and vehicle and be able to travel between Nexus sites when required.
Available to work weekdays between 8.30am – 5.00pm.
Fully vaccinated for yearly influenza.
