About the Opportunity
IFYS Project Paradigm has an exciting opportunity for a Project Officer to join the team in a fixed-term full-time position.
Project Paradigm delivers a national strategy that supports prevention, early intervention and community capacity building to ensure children and young people are free from harm through exploitation.
Reporting to the Principal Advisor – CSE, the Project Officer will contribute to consultation submissions, research and the creation and implementation of practice guidance, training and resources for state-wide and national distribution informing best practice for the prevention of Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation.

Key responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development and implementation of organisational frameworks and resources that support employees, volunteers and carers in recognising and responding to children and young people who have been, or are at risk of being, sexually abused or exploited
- Assist with a range of submissions relating to government consultations, research and funding tenders
- Support the delivery and development of a comprehensive CSE training package in conjunction with IFYS’ Training Team
- Contribute to the enhancement of the Child Protection sector’s awareness and capability to respond to CSE, through strong advocacy and involvement in communities of practice across the sector
- Support the Principal Advisor – CSE to provide specialist advice in relation to CSE through case reviews, policies and procedures, presentations and program material
- Support and contribute to the development and delivery of projects and campaign material to raise national awareness of CSE
- Regularly report about project activities, utilising a detailed work plan, recording outputs and impact measures
- Contribute to continuous improvement, review and develop broader documentation and procedures, which create greater efficiencies in business operations and enhance cultural practice
- Maintain a currency of knowledge and practice regarding National and International standards relating to child protection
Skills and requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a human services related discipline
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience developing and implementing child protection related projects, practice and policy frameworks
- Project management skills and an ability to translate vision into action
- Experience contributing to the writing of government submissions, tenders and grants
- Demonstrated ability to deliver presentations and training to a variety of audiences in professional and public settings
- Ability to travel interstate occasionally as the role requires
Must hold or be willing to provide or obtain if successful:
- QLD Drivers License with a clear traffic history
- QLD Working with Children Check (Paid Blue Card)
- Licensed Care Suitability Check (LCS2)
- National Crime Check (A new check will be completed through IFYS systems)
- Ability to provide two recent line manager references including your current employer
