This position is available on a full time, permanent basis and will be based at our Newcastle West Head Office to support properties in the Newcastle and Lake Macquarie LGAs.

About You
The Technical Officer is responsible for managing and monitoring housing assets to ensure they are safe, reliable, and fit for purpose. This role ensures that all works, including maintenance, repairs, and refurbishment, are delivered to high standards of quality, safety, and value for money. The role will also provide technical advice on repairs, maintenance, and effective asset management while fostering strong relationships with stakeholders to maximise the efficiency and effectiveness of maintenance activities.
Essential Requirements:
- Trade qualifications in carpentry, building, plumbing or relevant field
- Current unrestricted driver's licence
- 5yrs + proven experience in asset or portfolio management, construction materials specification and management of works delivery
- Possess well developed communication skills
- A strong decision-making ability based on sound judgement, expertise and knowledge
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and management skills including the ability to effectively communicate with a range of stakeholders
both verbally and written - Sound knowledge of WH&S legislation, risk assessments & hazard identification
- Proven experience using a range of database and workflow management systems and experience using the Microsoft Office Suite
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and provide a consistently high level of service
