About the Role
The Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania is seeking a professional and enthusiastic Administrative Assistant to join our team in Sandy Bay. This pivotal role supports the smooth operation of one of Tasmania's premier boating clubs.
What You'll Do
As the Administrative Assistant, you'll be the heart of our club's daily operations, directly supporting the General Manager while providing exceptional service to our members and guests.
Member Services & Communications
Manage club correspondence and member communications
Process new membership applications and maintain our database
Welcome members and visitors with professional, friendly service
Handle inquiries with efficiency and courtesy
Marketing & Digital Media
Maintain our website with current information and updates
Manage RYCT social media channels - creating content and responding to inquiries
Design event posters and promotional materials
Ensure marketing materials are displayed effectively throughout the club
Event & Committee Support
Coordinate administrative needs for regattas and special events
Provide support to club committees and the board
Prepare and maintain accurate meeting minutes
Assist with event planning and execution
Manage facility bookings
Financial Administration
Process accounts payable and receivable
Assist with bookkeeping tasks
Maintain organised financial records
Process membership fees and payments
General Administration
Maintain office supplies and equipment
Organise club documentation and filing systems
Collaborate with staff to ensure seamless operations
Support additional projects as directed by the General Manager
About You
Required Qualifications
Minimum 2 years' administrative experience
Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Proven customer service or member relations experience
Excellent written and verbal communication
Outstanding attention to detail and organisational abilities
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Desired Qualifications
Experience in bookkeeping or financial administration
Background in maritime or sporting club environments
Knowledge of sailing or boating industry
Experience with membership database management
