Position Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and adaptable Human Resource Adviser to join our Sydney team. This role will support strategic HR initiatives across Australia, New Zealand, and China, ensuring seamless HR operations, legal compliance, and people development. The successful candidate will work closely with leadership on matters including recruitment, policy development, and staff training programs, while championing diversity, inclusion, and a strong employer brand across the APAC and China regions.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement HR strategies tailored to the needs of a cross-border workforce spanning Australia, New Zealand, and China, particularly within the fintech sector.
Advise senior management on recruitment planning, employee relations, and legislative compliance in all three markets.
Manage onboarding processes, employment contracts, HRIS records, and cross-border induction and training programs, including Chinese market integration.
Coordinate graduate program development, professional learning initiatives, and talent pipeline strategies, ensuring Chinese market considerations are incorporated.
Provide oversight on workforce diversity, inclusion metrics, and employer branding initiatives to position Global Wave as a preferred employer in APAC and China.
Ensure compliance with Fair Work legislation (Australia), Employment Relations Act 2000 (NZ), and applicable employment regulations in China, including payroll and workforce planning practices.
Key Selection Criteria
Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Psychology, or Employment Relations.
At least 5 years of HR experience within SaaS, financial services, or consulting environments, ideally supporting dual- or tri-country teams including China.
Sound knowledge of HR compliance frameworks in Australia, New Zealand, and China.
Strong bilingual communication skills in English and Mandarin, suitable for liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders across regions.
Proven ability to implement scalable HR systems and processes in startup or high-growth organisations, including Chinese workforce integration.
Experience with HRIS, payroll coordination, and workforce planning across multiple legal jurisdictions.
