Our client, a rapidly growing ASX-listed mining and resources business headquartered in Brisbane, has partnered exclusively with us to appoint a high-potential Corporate Accountant. This is a rare opportunity for a recently qualified Big 4 auditor looking to make their first move into commerce—with all the right support to make it a success.

This position has become available due to an internal promotion, and sits within a high-calibre finance team led by a Financial Controller who also made the move from a Big 4 background. The culture is commercial, ambitious, and genuinely invested in the career development of its people.

About the Role

You’ll gain end-to-end exposure across financial and management accounting, month-end processes, budgeting, forecasting, and business partnering – giving you the well-rounded experience you need to establish a long-term career in industry.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Driving month-end reporting, journals, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis;
• Supporting annual budgets and rolling forecasts across business units;
• Preparing statutory reports and contributing to ASX compliance;
• Business partnering with operational stakeholders to provide meaningful financial insights
• Contributing to process improvement initiatives and systems optimisation; and
• Assisting the Financial Controller with ad hoc commercial projects and analysis.

About You

• CA qualified (or nearing completion) with a Big 4 background;
• Strong technical foundation in accounting and audit;
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
• A natural problem-solver with a commercial mindset; and
• Eager to grow in a fast-paced, evolving business environment.
