Kilmore Trackside, a part of Kilmore Racing Club Group, requires an experienced, passionate and reliable Sous Chef to become part of our kitchen team.

At Kilmore Trackside we provide exceptional Hospitality to our patrons. The venue includes a bistro style restaurant offering upscale menus and full table service. Trackside operates events alongside the Thoroughbred and Harness Racing Calendar's, and other large functions throughout the year also.

We pride ourselves on our Club culture of investment in our people through our focus on training and development. Our involvement in our community is supported through our ability to provide sponsorship and donations to a wide range of sporting Clubs and Community Groups.

Reporting to the Head Chef, the Sous Chef position is responsible for assisting the Senior Kitchen Team to maintain control of all aspects of catering & kitchen operations to the standards expected by Trackside in accordance with the Club’s policy & procedures.

The ideal candidate for this role will possess the following skills:

A passion for the industry and ability to develop a team culture.

Ability to work within a fast-paced setting while delivering consistent high standards.

Experience in leadership of kitchen team/s.

Ability to train and mentor staff, able to motivate a team.

Knowledge of ordering, food costing and inventory procedures

Able to use initiative and make decisions, with strong attention to detail.

A working knowledge of OHS standards, understanding the importance of maintaining a safe and hygienic kitchen.

The successful candidate will have a Certificate 4 in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification and more than three years of experience in a commercial kitchen.

All candidates must be flexible with roster, the ability to work nights and weekends is essential. The position is full time with a salary of $80,000, plus superannuation.
