Open Access College plays an important and critical role in addressing educational disadvantaged for South Australian Students who are not able to attend school in person or are unable to access aspects of the full curriculum at their local school. The College is a leader in distance education and operates from Campuses located in Adelaide and Port Augusta. The College caters for Reception to Year 12 students, providing dynamic and innovative teaching and learning programs.

This is a TEMPORARY POSITION 02/06/2025 to 21/01/2027, at Open Access College, Marden campus.

Hours per Week: 37.5 hours p/week (leave conditions)

The Student Services Leader, will be responsible for:

Providing leadership in an online environment that requires coordinating team members to respond to a large volume of enquiries weekly (from 200+ partner schools, regional offices and parents); processing daily ongoing enrolments for approximately 5,000 students; and ensuring data entry to processed in a timely manner ensuring smooth transition for students to re-engage with learning.

Monitoring the performance of the Team's operations against agreed service standards, utilising service metrics and leading the continuous improvement of service delivery.

Designing and implementing Student Services related continuous improvement processes, utilising contemporary management principles and methods.

Managing performance development and capacity building of the Team by providing feedback on performance, opportunities for professional development, training in key student services and enrolment functions and individual mentoring, coaching and support.

Liaising with our Student Wellbeing Team, (consisting of an AP, student wellbeing leaders and student wellbeing teachers) to ensure timely processing of responses to enquiries and processing of enrolments through to allocation to classes.

Ensuring compliance with Department for Education (DfE) policies and reporting requirements in consultation with the Assistant Principal, Student Wellbeing.

Ensuring the effective and efficient maintenance of highly sensitive and confidential student records.

Supporting the Principal with annual DfE student data collection requirements.

Leading a positive and constructive workplace culture, encouraging innovation and customer-centricity and modelling associated behaviors.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate their:

Ability to provide effective leadership and management in a demanding, dynamic and solution-focused environment.

High-level ability to communicate effectively, maintain confidentiality and to develop and sustain sound working relationships with managers, staff, students, parents and members of the community from diverse backgrounds.

Experience in managing a complex student services function.

Experience in leading team improvement and capacity building.

Experience in using continuous process improvement tools and techniques.

Knowledge and commitment to promoting and creating a safe and inclusive work environment, and the legislative requirements of Equal Opportunity and Work Health and Safety legislation.
