About the Role

We're on the lookout for a hands-on, people-focused Café/Restaurant Manager to help lead the day-to-day running of our vibrant venue. You’ll be working closely with the owners - who are often around but looking to take a step back - and leading a friendly, capable team to keep everything running smoothly. This role is ideal for someone who’s passionate about hospitality, enjoys rolling up their sleeves, and has a good head for both people and process.

What You’ll Need to Succeed
To hit the ground running, you’ll need solid barista skills and experience working in a fast-paced café or restaurant environment. An RSA certification is essential, along with a good understanding of food safety standards (a Food Safety Supervisor certificate is a big plus). You’ll also be comfortable using hospitality tech tools—including POS systems, online bookings, ordering platforms, and QR code menus. Bonus points if you're confident with basic social media management to support our promotions and events.

What You’ll Be Doing

Team Leadership

Lead by example, motivating the team to deliver great service and a warm atmosphere.

Help recruit, train, and support FOH and kitchen staff.

Be the go-to person for the team - encouraging, problem-solving, and helping everyone stay on track.

Operations & Daily Management

Oversee the daily flow of the café/restaurant, ensuring quality, speed, and consistency.

Be across everything from service to presentation, supplier orders, stock control, and venue cleanliness.

Manage the staff roster to balance coverage, budgets, and team needs.

Customer Experience

Keep customers happy and returning - handle feedback with a positive, solution-focused attitude.

Build relationships with regulars and help create a welcoming, local-favourite vibe.

Financial & Business Support

Manage budgets, supplier costs, and stock to keep things running efficiently.

Handle rostering as part of cost control and scheduling.

Work with the owners to track sales, targets, and improvements.

Look for ways to grow revenue through great service, clever specials, or events.

Marketing & Promotion

Help bring ideas to life - supporting seasonal promotions, social media content, or in-store events.

Keep the café looking great and feeling fresh.

What You’ll Bring

Previous experience managing a café, restaurant or busy hospitality venue.

Strong leadership with a friendly, confident approach to team management.

Good business sense - you understand how small decisions impact the bigger picture.

Calm and organised, even when it gets busy.

Comfortable with systems like POS, rostering tools, and stock software (or quick to learn).

A passion for good food, good service, and creating a great experience for guests and staff.

💰 Salary Guide

Typical salary for this type of role on the Gold Coast and surrounds is between $75,000 – $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
