About this position
The Leisure and Culture Branch is seeking a dedicated professional to ensure the effective organisation, maintenance and accessibility of the City of Gosnells library collection – both digital and physical. This role is central to enabling seamless customer access to a diverse range of resources, enhancing discoverability through innovative cataloguing and metadata practices.
The position also plays a key role in the City’s transition from MARC (Machine-Readable Cataloguing) to BIBFRAME (Bibliographic Framework) and involves close collaboration with the Library Management System (LMS) provider and the City’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT) team to support system maintenance, data accuracy and integration.
Experience using BIBFRAME and other emerging technologies to optimise resource access will be highly regarded.
What we are looking for
To be successful, you must be able to demonstrate:
Sound experience and knowledge in the management of digital and physical items content, including metadata standards
Knowledge of BIBFRAME
Proven ability to build and maintain positive working relationships
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Effective problem-solving skills
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Essential requirements
Qualification in Library and Information Management or equivalent
Driver’s licence
National Police Clearance (no more than three months old). Please note: This is not essential to apply for the role but will be required at a later stage as it is an appointment condition
