Our client is a highly respected, nationally registered training organisation (RTO) with a track record of delivering quality vocational education and training solutions across Australia. With a growing footprint in the commercial and enterprise sectors, they specialise in tailoring programs that align with industry standards, workforce development needs, and national qualification frameworks.
As part of their ongoing growth strategy, they are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to take the lead in identifying and securing new business opportunities across commercial markets and major industries.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Head of Growth, this role will be instrumental in building new partnerships with key stakeholders across sectors including infrastructure, mining, construction, health, logistics, manufacturing, and more. You’ll be at the forefront of driving market expansion by introducing training solutions that align with organisational and industry skills needs.

Key Responsibilities
Proactively identify, target, and secure new B2B opportunities across industries with high VET demand.
Build long-term relationships with decision-makers, workforce planners, HR managers, and industry bodies.
Develop tailored training solutions in collaboration with internal education and compliance teams.
Drive commercial outcomes through consultative sales strategies and account-based marketing.
Attend industry events, networking functions, and client presentations to promote the RTO’s services.
Prepare proposals, quotes, and agreements in line with compliance and contractual requirements.
About You
We are looking for a motivated, strategic business development professional who thrives in a target-driven, B2B environment and understands the VET sector.
To be successful, you will have:
Minimum 3+ years' experience in business development, ideally within an RTO, training services provider, or related education services role.
Proven ability to generate and close new business in commercial and enterprise markets.
Strong knowledge of the Australian VET sector, including training packages, funded programs, and industry workforce needs.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders.
A results-driven mindset with a passion for workforce development and skills training.
High-level written proposal, presentation, and reporting skills.
Ability to work independently, with strong planning and pipeline management.
A background in industries such as mining, construction, logistics, health or similar will be highly regarded, as will existing industry connections.
On Offer
Base salary $90k - $110k
Super at 11.5%
Fully Maintained Company vehicle or Car Allowance with Fuel Card and Tolls
