An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced litigation Associate with 4+ years post admission experience to join our growing commercial litigation team in our Sydney CBD office on a full-time permanent basis.

Kingston & Partners has two key focuses:
1. Our advance team, which comprises a highly skilled practice that produces and advises on loan and security documentation for private and commercial lenders across Australia; and
2. Our recovery and commercial disputes team, which focuses on a range of commercial disputes and litigation including all aspects of mortgage recovery across Australia.
About the role
The litigation team runs matters, in both plaintiff and defendant roles, across all Australian jurisdictions. The scope of the matters the litigation teams works on is extremely broad but primarily involves banking and finance, insolvency, equity, contract and corporate and commercial law matters.
This is a great opportunity for a banking and finance litigator to work in a fast pace, high performance, growing litigation practice with fantastic matters and learning and development opportunities.
Responsibilities
As part of the Kingston & Partners litigation team, your responsibilities would include:
a) Providing legal advice and expertise in banking, finance and commercial litigation to clients.
b) Managing the day-to-day conduct of multiple litigation files.
c) Instructing Counsel at Court appearances and appearing as necessary at directions hearing / callovers / mediations in all commercial Court jurisdictions across all Australian States and Territories.
d) Preparation of pleadings, evidence and all necessary Court documents associated with plaintiff and defendant court actions across all Australian States and Territories.
e) Preparing briefs to Counsel and instructing Counsel as required on contentious litigated matters.
f) Advising clients regularly on the status of their matters and recommending litigation strategies.
g) Assisting on property conveyance transactions relating to mortgagee sales.
h) Managing files, keeping clear and concise records and time recording.
i) Assisting in the marketing of Kingston & Partners by providing research and review of updates in legislation and case law relevant to banking and finance law, as required from time to time.
About you
The successful candidate will have a passion for commercial litigation and possess solid technical ability. They will be well balanced, outcome driven, and have both high-level written and verbal communication skills. Excellent attention to detail is essential as is outstanding client management skills and dedication to providing excellent service to the clients. The ability to work independently and proactively, whilst managing multiple tasks and deadlines is a must.
You must have:
demonstrated experience in litigation and commercial disputes;
the ability to run a commercial litigation file from start to finish;
A keen interest in the Banking and Finance sector; and
have proven ability to manage a busy and challenging workload.
Skills and Experience
4+ years’ experience as a solicitor from a mid or top tier firm preferred.
