The company

A well regarded business in the finance sector. They have grown rapidly over the last 5 years, and continue to grow.

They are based in the heart of Macquarie Park and are close to the metro station. Great offices, but they also offer plenty of scope to WFH (the role would start out a 3:2 hybrid, but over time would become more a 2:3).

The role

The company is doing a major uplift around their infrastructure & cybersecurity.

They are running on an Azure/365 backbone, and are looking to mature & harden the environment. On the back of that they are growing the Azure & Cyber teams.

The cyber security engineer role will play a key role in the cyber security uplift.

Helping to implement, optimise & administer Microsoft Defender (XDR, Endpoint and Cloud), working closely with the rest of their IT team (Developers, DevOps, Cloud Engineering & Helpdesk) to improve CyberSec standards, interfacing with the business, handling cybersecurity assessments regarding new applications, vulnerability & threat assessments, working with the SOC to respond to cyber incidents, analyse threats & respond accordingly.

As such, strong Defender skills are essential, spanning XDR, Endpoint and Cloud. You'll also have experience with some facets of the cyber incident response process (and understand the process as a whole)

You will also have experience working with frameworks including Essential 8 and NIST .

Certifications around Azure, CISSP or similar would be highly regarded

This is a permanent role offering a base of $160-$180k base plus super plus bonus
