Located in Dromana, our family run business is a leading marine construction company, with over 20 years of experience. Working with local government and community, we construct boat ramps, rock revetments, and pontoons, along with other civil and private works.
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated engineer with a background in marine construction (preferable) to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will have a strong involvement in the tendering process, including estimating and budgets, and contract administration. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven professional who is looking to advance their career in the marine construction industry.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in the preparation of tender documentation and contribute to bidding processes
Develop and manage project budgets, including estimating costs and tracking expenses to ensure financial control
Managing budgets and project resources to ensure that the construction project complies with relevant rules, regulations and guidelines.
Working alongside the Supervisors and Construction Administrator, monitor project progress and provide regular updates to Directors, Finance Manager and clients
Interpreting plans, regulations and codes of practice
Resolve design challenges or technical issues on-site and ensure solutions are implemented effectively and efficiently
Perform site inspections and quality assurance checks to ensure work meets specified requirements
Liaise with various internal departments and external parties including government bodies, suppliers and subcontractors as required, providing accurate and timely information
Support Senior Management and Office Administration teams to achieve milestones and objectives
Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with team members
Deliver regular, clear, and detailed updates to project managers, as required
Respond to all enquiries in a timely manner
Comply with Company policies and procedures
Maintain a clean and safe work environment
SKILL & QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
A Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (or related field) preferred, or a minimum of 5 years experience in Marine Construction, with a focus on tendering and project management
Experience working with government and private sector clients on large-scale marine projects, highly desirable
Familiarity with coastal engineering and environmental impact assessments, highly desirable
Excellent time management skills with the ability prioritise tasks
A strong work ethic and the ability to multitask
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Highly organised and driven and is consistently reliable, leading from the front
