Capital Linen Service (CLS) is a commercial business unit within the ACT Government’s Transport Canberra and City Services Directorate. With over 40 years of experience, we provide top-notch linen hire and laundry services to more than 120 clients across Canberra and its surrounds. As the Production Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing the day-to-day production requirements of our automated industrial laundry. You will lead a diverse workforce, including supervisors, leading hands, and linen assistants.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Operational Leadership: Develop and implement daily operational plans, lead morning briefings, and ensure safe, timely, and budget-compliant production.
  • Customer Service: Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and coordinate logistics to meet delivery targets.
  • Data and Analytics: Use production data to drive improvements and support strategic planning.
  • People and Asset Management: Manage staffing rosters, oversee performance and development plans, and ensure effective use of laundry assets.
  • Quality, Safety, and Environment: Promote safe work practices and address equipment and quality issues.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:

  • Experience in an industrial laundry or similar operational environment is highly desirable.
  • Driver’s licence [C Class] is essential, Medium or Heavy Ridged Licence (desirable) or the ability to achieve.
  • Forklift Licence (desirable) and Confined Space Certificate (desirable) or the ability to achieve.
  • Must be able to work weekends, public holidays, and have the ability to undertake work based on operational demand, including out of hours and overtime if necessary.
  • This position will require a pre-employment medical and police check.
  • Visa holders are eligible to apply for both permanent and temporary roles. Those with eligible visas may be considered for permanent employment, while individuals with temporary residency or limited-duration visas may be offered permanent employment for the duration of their visas.
