Your new role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Business Reporting Lead to join our team in Canberra. This role is pivotal in supporting our compliance and business reporting functions. The ideal candidate will possess a CPA or CA qualification and have at least 5 years of experience in an assistant accountant position. As a Business Reporting Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reports, managing end-of-month processes, and providing critical financial insights to senior management. Your role will involve a variety of tasks aimed at maintaining financial integrity and supporting business operations. Key responsibilities of the position are:
- Finalise End of Month (EOM) reports, including variance analysis and balance sheet reconciliation.
- Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) and draft necessary adjustments.
- Maintain and update the fixed assets register, including depreciation, additions, and disposals.
- Review and adjust accruals, prepayments, and labour analysis for accurate financial reporting.
- Conduct checks on general ledger accounts and gather data for EOM reporting.
- Provide supporting documents for senior management review and handle ad-hoc tasks as required.
What you'll need to succeed
- Must be an Australian Citizen.
- CPA or CA qualification is desirable.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an assistant accountant or finance officer position.
- Strong communication skills to liaise with various stakeholders, including Accounts Payable, Payroll, Finance, and Supply Chain.
- Ability to work in the Canberra city office 5 days a week.
