About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the finance team at Aurora Dairies Management as a Management Accountant reporting to the Financial Planning and Analysis Manager. You will be responsible for financial planning, reporting and business partnering, assisting in the annual budget preparation cycle, lead key internal and external reporting, and participate in the program for business partnering across the organisation. This is a full-time role based in our Melbourne office.

Why is this role for you

• Aurora Dairies Management is a newly formed entity that has been established to undertake all management functions (including Finance) of an extremely large-scale dairy business from 1 August 2025.
• As the inaugural Management Accountant of Aurora Dairies Management and in utilising your skills garnered from other businesses you have been involved in, you will have the opportunity to develop your own systems, structures, processes from the ground up.
• You won’t be on your own. There will be support and guidance provided by industry financial experts and seasoned professionals. However, the team is keen to hear your ideas and vison of what makes a great finance function.
• If you don’t have Agriculture or Dairy experience, it is not a big deal, we will teach you. However, if you consider yourself to have top level Management Accountant experience, then we want to speak to you and learn from you.

What you'll be doing

• Be the primary support for the managers in review of the monthly accounts in order to drive review, understanding and actions.
• Ability to provide margin analysis on sales information
• Assist with month end preparation where required.
• Lead budget and forecast preparation
• Reporting and analysis, including analysis of farm information, monthly corporate reports and the ability to identify reporting tools to make processes more efficient
• Management of ad-hoc information requests and analysis

What we're looking for

• Degree in Finance / Accounting
• Accounting and administration experience in a similar role for at least 3 years
• Extensive knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and financial analysis
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, standards, and compliance requirements
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Proficient in the use of financial software and analytical tools
