The Pre-Sales Technical Consultant supports the sales team by clarifying requirements, defining and specifying potential solutions, quoting these, and then providing materials and support for the sales team to present these to clients and prospective clients. This is a diverse role which requires excellent communication skills, the ability to quickly scope out requirements and solutions; good knowledge of digital signage technologies; an understanding of software design and development processes; and the ability to multi-task.
Position Objectives
Assist in maintaining Seen Technology at the forefront of innovation and display technology
Support Seen’s sales team by accurately and creatively defining solutions to client needs
Ensure that all proposals are accurately costed
Contribute to a positive culture within the business
Be responsible for continual self-improvement
Key Responsibilities:
Engage with the sales team and clients to understand client objectives, technical requirements, and existing infrastructure.
Specify appropriate solutions for client requirements including hardware, software, support, and integration requirements where required.
Identify where non-standard solutions are required, and then work with the product development team and suppliers to develop an appropriate solution.
Specify assumptions and/or expectations of the client or site on which the quote is based.
Cost and price these solutions to provide pricing and related conditions for the sales team to clients.
Consult with the implementation and logistics team to understand costs of delivery where required.
Consult with suppliers to understand costs and implementation requirements; Identify implementation risk of potential projects.
Provide expert advice and consultation on best practices, technology options, and potential challenges.
Make available information on the offer and pricing to sales team in a way that can be clearly and quickly presented to clients, and represents the Seen Technology in a way that is compelling as possible.
Contribute to the development of high-quality proposals, including technical sections and pricing considerations. Ensure the technical accuracy and feasibility of all proposed solutions.
Act as a trusted advisor and technical expert to provide technical guidance to the sales team throughout the sales process and early stages of project delivery.
Assist with presentations of technical solutions to clients.
Create technical documentation and sales tools to support the sales process.
Handover (document and brief) projects to the project implementation team at the start of projects.
Maintain and develop costing and pricing tools to allow efficient project costing.
Maintain a deep understanding of our digital signage products, services, and the broader industry landscape, including emerging technologies and trends.
Maintain relationships with suppliers as necessary to be able to perform the role effectively.

Required skills, knowledge, and experience:
An appropriate engineering-based tertiary qualification
Experience with digital display technologies
Experience in a pre-sales or estimating role
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Ability to multi-task
Personal initiative and ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment
Relationships:
Reports to the Director of Technology Design and Innovation, with day-to-day activities scheduled in conjunction with the Director Business Development
Interacts with customers to understand requirements and feedback solutions
Consults with the implementation and technology teams to understand solution delivery processes and costs; and to hand-over approved projects
Works with suppliers to understand available products and costs
Interacts with the accounts staff to understand costing
Escalates issues to the management team for assistance and advice
