Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Estimator to join the dynamic team at Total Mechanical & Electrical, based in Temora, NSW. You will work closely with senior team members in operations by preparing accurate and timely cost estimates and quotations for Electrical, Plumbing, and Air Conditioning projects. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and interested in developing a career in project estimating within the trades industry.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and submit estimates and quotes based on job requirements

Interpret job scopes, technical drawings, and specifications

Source and compile supplier and subcontractor pricing

Collaborate with the operations team to finalise quote details

Maintain and update pricing, materials, and supplier databases

Assist with reviewing and improving estimating processes and templates

Ensure all quotes are aligned with company standards, profitability targets, and client expectations

Follow up on outstanding quotes as required

Assist with project handover processes where applicable

Qualifications & Experience

Experience in estimating, administration, or trade-related roles is preferred but not essential

Familiarity with trades or construction industries is a bonus

Computer literacy required; experience with estimating software or ServiceM8 is beneficial

Training provided for the right candidate

Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Accuracy and completeness of quotes

Timeliness of quote preparation

Internal feedback from the operations team

Quote win rate and conversion feedback

Initiative shown in improving systems and processes
