Can-Weld Contracting was established in 1994. We specialize in architectural metalwork, stainless steel balustrades and structural steel, for the construction industry. We are based in Hume ACT.

Job Description

Our Company is looking for a Bookkeeper/Office Administrator with prior experience to join us.

You will oversee financial transactions, keep precise records, and ensure adherence to accounting regulations and policies.

The preferred candidate should possess superb organizational skills, pay close attention to details, and be capable of working effectively in a construction environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including processing invoices, issuing payments, and reconciling accounts.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation, including purchase orders, invoices, receipts, and contracts.
  • Monitor stocks of office supplies and order when necessary.
  • Collect mail from Postal Box on regular basis.
  • Contact clients to capture timely payments.
  • Prepare reports, and assist with budgeting and forecasting.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including reconciling accounts, and generating financial reports.
  • Identify and address discrepancies in all documentation.
  • Update all databases and spreadsheets as required.
  • Ensure all accounting documentation is correctly stored.
  • Assist with other accounting and administration functions as needed including liaising with Directors.
  • Maintain the authenticity and integrity of the company’s accounting affairs

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with MYOB
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Effective decision-making and problem-solving techniques
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience in an accounts and administrative role in a similar industry is a plus.
