Jetwave Marine are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Payroll Officer to join our team in South Fremantle.

The Payroll Officer will support the financial operations within the Finance Team. This position will manage all aspects of payroll functions, including processing fortnightly payroll, superannuation, and payroll-related activities.

This position is Part Time 0.5 FTE with fixed days Tuesday and Thursday. An additional day or two half days to be at the candidate's choice.

Skills and Qualifications

3+ years of experience in complex payroll management with multiple Enterprise Agreements, favoured.

Experience with payroll in a FIFO workforce, including leave entitlement calculations.

Strong knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance requirements related to payroll.

Proficiency in Definitiv and Xero payroll software, along with Microsoft Office Suite.

Experience in providing payroll reports to management.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Essential Competencies and Characteristics

Marine industry experience is desired.

Ability to work well independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping.

Strong numeric skills.

Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.

Australian permanent residency.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

End-to-end fortnightly payroll functions.

Ensure compliance with the Superannuation Guarantee Levy and accurate calculation of PAYG.

Processing staff reimbursements and maintaining accurate records of payroll transactions.

Reconcile payroll general ledger accounts and assist with month-end closing activities.

Collaborate with the Finance team to improve processes and streamline workflows.

Supervision

The position reports to the Company Finance Manager. There are no direct reports to this position.
