An extraordinary opportunity awaits a dynamic Sales Area Manager (SAM) to join our team. The Sales Area Manager (SAM), directs, and implements strategies to develop and increase sales in the assigned Sales Area. Ensures corporate-wide commitment to sales goals, coordinates Sales and support area resources, communicates progress and resolve issues to realise established goals.
Tindo is Australia’s only solar panel manufacturer, located in Technology Park, Adelaide.
Tindo - meaning ‘Sun’ in the local indigenous Kaurna-Warra language - was founded in 2010, first panel off the line in 2011 from our 30MW facility. Key Responsibilities:
Partner Development & Relationship Management:
Acts to reach the sales and market share targets.
Specifically identifies Tindo opportunities within the accounts in the area and establishes appropriate goals, based on management by objectives, and measurable milestones to increase the sales in the area.
Successfully compete in the marketplace with a value-added approach to ensure the leading position and market share goals in the targeted area.
Develops sales for assigned sales area that links Tindo’s core competencies to the areas potential customer’s strategies.
Creates close personal relationships with target clients personnel.
Work closely and supports the Training Manager by suggesting and organizing training sessions with customers.
Is the driver to generate new sales leads, either by using lead-finders, own networks, distributors, social media networks like LinkedIn, and customer referrals etc.
Respond immediately and professionally to customer requests.
Participate in the strategic development and promotion of new business, defensible, differentiated positions, and a strong and credible brand name of Tindo.
Co-develop and maintain together with the internal team a customer service proposition that exceeds basic accounts service needs and meets or exceeds company profitability targets.
Communicate effectively and build effective communication systems with all departments and customers.
Open, honest communications, adherence and promotion of the values of Tindo.
Continuously profile & qualify New & Existing Tindo Solar Reseller partners.
Understand the Tindo Solar product Portfolio and Reseller partner Business Proposition, identify Key Decision Makers within each partner Account and actively work towards becoming a Trusted Advisor
Effectively prospect for and qualify New Partnership Opportunities and guide every Qualified Opportunity from Identification to successful Activation (installation) - actively collaborating with Tindo Solar Authorized Distribution partners.
Sales Development:
Participate when required with Sales & Marketing Management in the definition of marketing requirements for defined market opportunities in the targeted area.
Proactively support and enable a Named Account Portfolio of Qualified reseller partners and act as their Primary Point of Contact throughout the Sales Cycle.
Facilitate Technical Design Reviews for Qualified Opportunities with Sales Engineering
Coordinate Customer Satisfaction Escalations with Customer Service to ensure positive Customer Experience
Identify and seize prospects to grow and develop the partner network.
Participate in pertinent industry exhibitions, lending bolstering support to the team.
Systematically collect Actionable Customer & Market Intelligence
Market Analysis:
Reports weekly and monthly on regular update of sales and opportunities status for the area including key results in past weeks/month, forecast for coming 3 months, orders, key account status and other significant events in the areas. Provide solutions to problems/gaps identified and complete all reports on time.
Weekly updates within customer database system and to sales management.
Share best practices with colleagues from Tindo.
Remain abreast of prevailing industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor maneuvers, orchestrating routine market scrutiny to unearth avenues for expansion.
Channel market insights internally to enrich product positioning and drive strategic imperatives.
Performance Monitoring:
Evaluate partner effectiveness against predefined metrics, remedying performance.
Deliver periodic reports to the Head of Wholesale, CEO & sales Director furnishing comprehensive insights into sales performance and market trends.
Desirable qualifications, work experience and skills:
Qualified to degree level or higher.
Experienced at selling a technical product.
Able to demonstrate or the wiliness to learn a sound understanding of the solar PV market. Experience of selling solar inverters is preferable.
Possess a minimum of 5 years sales experience, if possible, into the renewable energy market.
Demonstrably strong negotiation and influencing skills; commercially astute.
Able to understand financial concepts and PV financing.
Possess very strong interpersonal skills, able to communicate effectively over the telephone, face to face and in writing with people at various levels of an organization.
Able to build stable and effective working relationships.
Able to share own expertise and provide guidance and support to other team members.
Cultural empathy.
Demonstrate strategic vision and planning capabilities.
Understands, with clarity, key internal/external business issues and best practice in self discipline. Able to make changes to own work style in response to these.
Able to manage own time and workload and work remotely.
Able to travel throughout the assigned territory as necessary including overnight stops.
Experience working collaboratively with and through Channel Partners
Proven track record of consistently delivering against sales quota & key sales objectives
Very process-focused, highly organized and comfortable in a fast-paced, results-driven environment
Excellent verbal & written communication skills
Engaging, confident and energetic telephone personality
Working knowledge of the solar industry
CRM system experience
