About Us?
The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region.

The focus of IUIH Aged Care team is to work with the local Indigenous community and relevant key stakeholders to increase access to comprehensive care and provide well-coordinated, quality in home care services to eligible aged care clients.

About the Role?

Under S25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous. A Confirmation of Aboriginality may be required from the successful appointee.

In the role of an Administration Support Officer for our Aged Care Team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the team by providing comprehensive administration and communication support services. Your responsibilities will include handling communications with participants and staff, and ensuring that all administrative tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner. As a key member of the team, you will be instrumental in enabling the Aged Care service teams to achieve their business objectives. Within the role, you will be required to:

  • Uphold client confidentiality, ensuring their right to privacy with information only being shared where consents are provided.
  • Coordination of reception duties for the relevant Aged Care services.
  • Coordinate provision of general administration support including photocopying, compilation of materials/folders, preparation for conferences and meetings and shredding of documents
  • Coordinate Finance paperwork by collating all accounts payable and accounts receivable along with all relevant documentation and approvals for lodgement with Corporate Services
  • Coordinate general word processing duties including typing letters, agendas, minutes, and reports.
  • Coordinate accurate and timely booking of all conference, travel and accommodation needs.
  • Organise arrangements for regional events, meetings and committees’ requirements.
  • Assist Regional Management team by providing administrative support where required.


About You?

  • Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD)
  • Current Criminal History Check

Desirable, but not mandatory:

  • Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and /or communities
