Zonta House Refuge Association (Zonta House) is a specialist provider of family and domestic violence (FDV) services. Our purpose, values, and services have been informed through 40 years of experience, the needs of women in our community, and research in leading practice.
Zonta House provides a suite of services for women experiencing FDV that reinforce one another and represent the core of Zonta House’s work. That is, when the voices of women are heard, our responses uphold the dignity, build on safety, and challenge the drivers of abuse. Victims/Survivors of FDV are able to access responsive and person-centered support based on their needs to build a future free from abuse.
About the role
We are seeking someone who shares our values of Care, Integrity, and Dedication to help drive positive change in the community. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the effective operations and delivery of quality services while supporting and managing employees. This role involves overseeing the daily functions of allocated programs and providing a safe and supportive environment.
As an essential part of the Zonta House Leadership team, this position works closely with the Operations Manager and other Team Leaders to maintain a cohesive and efficient organisational structure.
This role is being offered as a fulltime, 12-month fixed term contract, with possibility of extension or permanency.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and guiding a dedicated team to ensure the delivery of high-quality support services to women in accessing our programs.
- Oversee the daily running of our refuge and external transitional accommodation, and ensure high-quality support is provided.
- Oversee casework, case management, and support across programs, serving as the direct contact for Refuge and Transitional Support Coordinators regarding client-related matters and ensuring they are supported in complex situations.
- Providing support and guidance to staff in developing holistic case plans in consultation with women, following the therapeutic framework, and conducting reviews. This includes reviewing support plans, risk assessments, and safety plans and offering feedback to ensure that women receive the necessary support to achieve their goals.
- Monitoring contractual requirements and key performance indicators while ensuring adherence to contracts.
- Providing a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment for staff and women accessing our accommodation.
- Oversee the Property Officer and the management of the Property Portfolio across the organisation.
Other areas of responsibility include management of Family Support Program, stakeholder management and reporting.
Key Selection Criteria
- Qualifications in Community Services, Mental Health, Social Sciences, Psychology or Social Work.
- Demonstrated strong track record of leadership, showcasing ability to develop and lead a successful team. This includes a history of effectively coaching and motivating team members to deliver exceptional client-focused services.
- Demonstrated experience and commitment to social justice and welfare by working with victim-survivors of family and domestic violence.
- Experienced in working in a residential setting supporting people affected by family and domestic violence, mental health, alcohol and other drugs, and homelessness.
- Demonstrated experience in financial management, budgeting of programs, and meeting contractual obligations.
- Experienced in working within a Case Management framework and developing and reviewing case plans.
- Experienced and proven knowledge of using Risk Assessment and Safety Plans.
- Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
- Sound analytical and planning skills in the development of work systems/processes that support the delivery of services to a high standard.
The successful candidate will need to provide:
- National Police Clearance Certificate
- Working with Children Check
- A valid motor vehicle driver's license with a good driving record
