The Sawyers Arms Tavern is located in Newtown Geelong. The business consists of the hotel with a strong focus on food and also has two restaurants Two Noble (Asian Fusion) and Eileen's (Charcoal steakhouse) located on the same premise. It has recently been nominated as a finalist in 7 Australian Hotel Association Awards, including best regional hotel, best refurbishment, best casual dining, best parma and venue manager and chef of the year.

About the role

As the business has grown we are now looking for an experienced Duty Manager. As Duty Manager, you will be responsible for working with the venue managers, overseeing the day-to-day operations of our popular hotel, ensuring exceptional customer service and the smooth running of all aspects of the business. This is a full-time position.

What you'll be doing

Manage and coordinate the front-of-house team, including hosts, servers, and bartenders

Ensure high standards of food and beverage service are maintained at all times

Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints in a professional and efficient manner

Manage shift schedules and staff rostering

Provide leadership, training, and performance management for the front-of-house team

Liaise with the kitchen and other departments to ensure seamless service delivery

Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and licensing regulations

What we're looking for

Minimum 2-3 years' experience in a similar Duty Manager role

Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team

Excellent communication and customer service skills

Proficient in inventory management and stock control

Sound knowledge of relevant health, safety, and licensing regulations

Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities

Passion for the hospitality industry and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences
