About Our Company
The Canvas Apartment Hotel is a 4-star serviced apartment hotel located in the Melbourne CBD. We are seeking for a well-rounded and experienced Duty Manager to join our team. Our service is highly regarded, and our location puts you right in the centre of the action, which attracts leisure and corporate guests looking for either a short or long stay in Melbourne.
The Canvas Apartment Hotel has a selection of one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments, with a gym located on our top level. The Hotel operates 7 days a week, with shifts covering the opening hours from 8am to 8pm.
Job Scope and Responsibilities
Lead the hotel team from various departments to deliver excellent customer service to our guests
Resolve guest issues that arise in an efficient manner
Provide solid training and feedback to staff in a consistent manner
Supervise hotel operations to ensure all departments are working cohesively to deliver the best potential service
Ensure the property presentation and cleanliness is held to the highest level and be able to conduct room inspections
Curate the perfect stay by providing guests local insight to maximise their stay
Assist Hotel Manager in performing managerial duties such as rostering and finalising payroll cycle
Maintain good communication and work relationships in all hotel departments, with a thorough understanding of each department
Allocating duties to housekeepers, porters and doorpersons
Promote the business and maximise revenue to ensure targets are met
Ensure compliance of hotel operations according to the hotel policies, procedures, and legislative requirements
Ability to build strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including Body Corporate
To be successful in this role you will need:
A relevant diploma or higher qualification, or at least three years of experience
Strong interpersonal and time management skills
Passionate and enthusiastic about hospitality and customer service
Excellent presentation and grooming standards
Ability to work independently and solve problems under pressure
Cheerful personality whether in person or over the phone
High attention to detail
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite
Be able to provide an unforgettable experience for guests
Ability to work a rotating roster, including weekends, public and school holidays
Good to have, but not essential as we have training programs in place:
Previous experience within a similar hotel position
Previous experience with PMS System – RMS Preferred
