Are you a highly experienced Storage and Backup Engineer with deep expertise in enterprise backup and storage solutions? Resolve Recruit is partnering with a key Commonwealth Government agency to engage a Storage and Backup Engineer to lead the modernisation of storage and backup environments across both on-premises and cloud platforms.

In this role, you will be responsible for the deployment, configuration, monitoring and ongoing optimisation of Commvault and NetApp environments. Your expertise will play a vital role in supporting the agency’s business continuity, ensuring data integrity and enhancing the delivery of critical digital services. This is a high-impact opportunity within a major government agency committed to advancing national information integrity and resilience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deploy, configure and manage NetApp storage systems in on-premises and cloud environments
• Maintain and enhance Commvault backup solutions across on-premises, Azure and Commvault Cloud
• Design and implement data retention and recovery strategies that meet RTO and RPO requirements
• Monitor system performance and thresholds, responding to incidents and implementing corrective measures
• Proactively identify infrastructure risks and implement mitigation strategies
• Collaborate with technical teams and vendors to ensure consistent delivery and support of infrastructure services
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across infrastructure operations and processes

Key Experience and Skills:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Storage and Backup Engineer or Administrator in hybrid environments
• Expert-level proficiency with Commvault backup technologies, including cloud integrations
• Advanced experience with NetApp storage systems and associated protocols (iSCSI, NFS, CIFS)
• Proven ability to develop and maintain infrastructure documentation and reporting
• Experience with scripting and automation for system monitoring (e.g., PowerShell)
