• Data Engineer / Analyst to convert Python-based pipelines into Power BI Dashboards

The Opportunity

Join a technically strong team (EL2, 3x EL1’s 2x APS6’s) working on critical national energy datasets.

This 6-month contract role offers the chance to apply your Python, SQL & Power BI skills to real-world challenges, supporting the creation of dashboards used to monitor reliability, demand, forecasting, and market behaviours.

The Role

In this role you will:

• Translate Python scripts into Power BI Dashboards (DAX or M)
• Maintain and enhance existing analytics pipelines
• Work with clean, well-documented code developed by the outgoing EL1 (available for handover support)
• Focus on delivery of high-impact visualisation tools, including supply and demand forecasting, and market behaviour analysis
• Contribute to improvements in data pipelines and engineering practices
• Operate autonomously on technical work, with the flexibility to choose the best solution paths

The Ideal Person

You will likely bring:

• Strong technical skills in Python, SQL, and Power BI (including Power Query, DAX, or M)
• Experience delivering production-grade dashboards and converting code into visual insights
• Ability to work independently on technical solutions with minimal supervision
• Energy sector experience is desirable but not essential

This role would also suit a high performing APS6 looking for an A/g opportunity.

Due to the nature of the work Australian Citizenship is mandatory.

Salary / Rate

• 6 month non-ongoing contract
• $115k - $129k + 15.4% Super
