About the Role

Intelligentsia Consulting is seeking two Counterintelligence (CI) Analysts with deep subject matter expertise and a broad understanding of intelligence disciplines and functions across the Defence Intelligence Enterprise (DIE) and the National Intelligence Community (NIC). The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and revalidating Defence CI requirements, scoping threat levels, and contributing to the development of future CI capabilities and associated project documentation.

Subject Matter Expertise

Demonstrated background in intelligence with a focus on Counterintelligence (CI).

Understanding of broader Defence Intelligence Enterprise and associated intelligence functions.

Proven experience in developing or advising on CI capabilities or similar intelligence disciplines.

Ability to apply tradecraft knowledge to shape future CI requirements in line with Defence and NIC priorities.

Key Responsibilities

The CI Capability Analyst will be required to:

Stakeholder Engagement: Lead and maintain relationships across Defence, NIC, and FVEY partners.

CI Need Assessment: Evaluate CI needs against current and emerging threat environments.

Function Mapping: Map CI capability functions, including allied partner approaches.

Future Capability Design: Define and articulate a future Defence CI capability model.

Function Clarification: Clarify Defence CI roles, responsibilities, and authorities.

Role Codification: Distinguish CI roles from security-related functions to support capability clarity.

Documentation Development: Support the drafting of ODCS project documentation required for government submissions and capability lifecycle management.

Evaluation Criteria

Applicants must address the following:

Demonstrated capability and capacity to deliver the services described.

Intelligence background is essential, with specific expertise in Counterintelligence.

Experience in capability management, including developing proposals and supporting documentation.

Familiarity with Defence capability lifecycle processes and documentation standards.

Proven ability to work effectively on-site within a secure government environment.

Relevant qualifications and/or professional experience in CI and related intelligence disciplines.

Australian citizenship and NV2 security clearance (TSPV highly desirable).
