JOHNEX explosives are a 100% Australian owned manufacturer and distributor of innovative explosives. Our Kalgoorlie, WA, Field Operations team is seeking a locally based, dynamic person with an eye for detail to complement our team.
Our Field Operations team in Kalgoorlie, WA is looking for a detail-oriented and dynamic Administration Assistant to support our daily operations. If you're organised, proactive, and keen to work in a unique industry, we want to hear from you!
About the Role
As an Administration Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of our Field Operations team. Your responsibilities include:
General office administration: phone reception, timesheets, data entry, document management.
Client site onboarding and mobilisation support.
Purchasing: supporting the Area Managers with processing purchase orders, coordinating deliveries, managing stock control.
Organising freight forwarding of goods to remote sites.
Monthly Field Operations Stocktake reconciliation and reporting.
Managing company housing in Kalgoorlie, Bogan Gate (NSW), and Coffs Harbour (NSW).
Coordinating staffing rosters, travel, and accommodation.
Handling employee expense claims.
Compiling customer reports and internal field operations reports.
Inventory control, including stock counting and reconciliations.
Maintaining accurate records for assets, employees, and vehicles.
Essential Criteria
To be successful, you must have:
✔ Be 18 years or older (industry requirement).
✔ Australian citizenship or work rights.
✔ A Dangerous Goods security card (or ability to obtain).
✔ A C Class manual driver’s license and own transport.
✔ Ability to pass medical checks and ongoing drug/alcohol screening.
✔ A satisfactory police clearance (within the last 3 months).
Skills & Experience
We are looking for someone with:
Strong attention to detail and customer focus.
Excellent literacy, numeracy, and communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Experience with inventory control and stock management.
Physically capable of assisting with stock handling.
Desirable but Not Essential
HR Licence (or willingness to obtain with company support).
Forklift Licence.
Experience with fatigue management policies.
Knowledge of MYOB or Greentree inventory systems.
First Aid certificate.
Industry experience in explosives (an advantage but not required).
