Minimum requirements:

• A caring & friendly personality
• Proficient computer literacy
• Strong written & verbal communication skills
• Effective multi-tasking
• Maintenance of professional appearance & attitude
• Minimum 1 year experience as a dental receptionist and/or assistant is essential
• Other experience within the medical sector will be highly regarded

Tasks & responsibilities

Dental Assistant:

• Helping with infection control by sterilizing and disinfecting instruments, setting up instrument trays, preparing materials, and assisting with dental procedures.
• Assisting dentists in managing medical and dental emergencies when necessary.
• Providing great patient care.
• Recording treatment information in patient records.
• Collecting and recording medical and dental histories and patient vital signs.
• Providing postoperative instructions as directed by the dentist.
• Caring for dental equipment.
• Ordering dental supplies and maintaining dental equipment inventory.

Receptionist:

• Patient management; greeting and welcoming patients, answering all phone inquiries, making & confirming appointments; checking, processing & managing customer accounts
• General administration duties
• Cashier duties
• Preparations for patient appointments; treatment after-care instructions, forms, etc.
• Communicate with doctors regarding patient's dental treatment schedule
• Restock any insufficient office materials
• Communicate with third parties (i.e. dental labs) to follow up orders, etc.
