This is a forward-thinking and growing insurance brokerage based in Melbourne's CBD. The company is looking to hire an experienced strata claims executive, with a view for this individual taking on leadership or management work within the team over time. This is a flexible role based in Melbourne's CBD.

Your new role
This is a great role for an experienced strata claims professional, who is eager to move forward in their career and looking to take on more management responsibilities. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee the entire claims process from notification to final settlement, ensuring a seamless and efficient experience for clients, brokers, and insurers.
  • Support colleagues with their workload, and when required, take responsibility for the management of team members' work.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, strata managers, and owners by providing regular updates and addressing their concerns.
  • Evaluate the validity and extent of claims, gather necessary documentation, and potentially coordinate with loss adjusters or inspectors.
  • Negotiate with insurers and loss adjusters to achieve fair and timely settlements for clients.
  • Maintain accurate records of all claims-related activities, including correspondence, reports, and financial information.
  • Ensure that all claims are handled in accordance with relevant laws, regulations, and insurance policies.
  • Identify areas for improvement in the claims process and contribute to the development of new systems or procedures.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to be considered for this role, you will have a minimum of 3 years' experience in insurance claims and a strong understanding of strata insurance. You will ideally have worked for a reputable insurance brokerage over this time. You will have broader general insurance knowledge and be able to support with wider insurance claims when required. This role is being hired with the view of the successful candidate taking on further management responsibilities within the team, so you will have strong leadership characteristics and a desire to continue this further. Being comfortable building internal and external relationships along with being a strong communicator are essential.
