ABOUT THE COMPANY:

My client is a well-established leader in the welding consumables and equipment space, and they’re all about providing practical, top-quality solutions to industries like manufacturing, fabrication, and construction. They’re looking for a Business Development Manager who’s passionate about sales, welding, and building lasting relationships with clients across Victoria.
THE ROLE:
This is a road-based, hands-on sales role where you’ll be responsible for driving new business while also looking after an existing customer base. You’ll have the autonomy to manage your own territory across Victoria, with a balanced mix of new business development and account management.
You’ll be working directly with clients to understand their needs, provide tailored solutions, and build long-lasting relationships. Your product knowledge will be crucial as you’ll be advising customers on the best welding consumables and equipment for their operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify and secure new business opportunities across VIC
Manage and grow existing client accounts
Conduct client visits, product demonstrations, and technical presentations
Collaborate with internal teams to deliver customised solutions
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of product offerings and market trends
Prepare quotes, proposals, and follow up on opportunities
Meet and exceed monthly sales targets
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Proven Experience in Sales: You’ll have a solid background in selling welding consumables and/or equipment and ideally experience within the industrial, manufacturing, or construction sectors.
Customer-Focused Mindset: You understand that sales are about building trust and relationships. You’ll be someone who goes the extra mile to meet customer needs.
Autonomous & Driven: This is a road-based role, so you’ll need to be comfortable working independently, managing your time effectively, and taking ownership of your own territory.
Strong Communication & Negotiation Skills: Whether you’re on the phone or in front of a client, you’ll need to be clear, persuasive, and able to explain technical products in an easy-to-understand way.
Technical Knowledge: While we’ll provide product training, you should already have a strong understanding of welding consumables and equipment, as well as an ability to adapt and learn.
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
Base $90,000 - $110,000 | Super 11.5% | Company Car | Commissions
