About our team
The Organisational Development and People Transformation Team leverage people data to drive strategic decisions related to the workforce, empowering and inspiring BCE people to deliver on the organisation's vision, mission, and strategy. The team leads the design and delivery of talent development, recognition and DEI strategies through strategic workforce initiatives to improve organisational performance and culture.

Become the go-to expert, offering insightful advice on complex technical, commercial, and operational challenges as Talent Development and Diversity Officer. You will collaborate with stakeholders to align our diversity and inclusion strategies with our objectives and values, championing diversity, respect, and equity. Your expertise will foster an inclusive workplace where all employees feel a sense of belonging and pride.

  • Work hours: Full-time | Flexible working arrangements available
  • Salary: $118,656 - $131,184 + super
  • Status: Permanent Continuing

About the opportunity

In this position you will be responsible for:

  • Organise and deliver DEI priorities, initiatives, and projects, including the RAP.
  • Provide specialist advice on policies, procedures, and initiatives that promote an inclusive workplace.
  • Undertake in-depth research and analysis to provide recommendations for resolving operational and technical issues.
  • .Providing complex technical, commercial, operational advice and developing administrative management practices on DEI matters.
  • Collaborating across business areas to develop, implement or resolve organisational requirements and needs.
  • Engage with stakeholders to clarify needs and co-design DEI initiatives and measures.
  • Analyse data and information, streamline processes, identify gaps and trends to improve and enhance operational practices related to DEI.
  • Identify and resolve issues affecting systems, workflows, and projects to enhance efficiencies and performance.

About you

To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:

  • To perform this role, it is essential that the person is an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person. BCE considers that being an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person is a genuine occupational requirement for this position under Section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld) as amended.
  • Experience in designing and implementing DEI initiatives and measures.
  • Providing advice on complex technical, commercial, operational, and administrative management practices.
  • Stakeholder engagement for cross-collaboration.
  • High level of subject matter expertise in diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Analytical mindset, using data and information to identify areas for improving operational practices.
  • Demonstrates a proactive mindset, consistently seeking opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Leading and fostering a high performing team.
  • Equivalent experience or a Bachelor's degree in Organisational Development, Human Resources, or Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is required, with qualifications in these fields being highly regarded but not essential.

Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements:

  • Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
  • Positive Notice Blue Card for working with Children.
