Position Summary

Reporting to the Head of Talent and Performance, the Organisational Development Manager will lead the design, delivery, evaluation and continuous improvement of organisational initiatives to build workforce capability, enhance employee experience across the full employee lifecycle and shape a high-performance culture.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is seeking a strategic level position who also loves rolling up their sleeves to deliver their development infinitives at the same time.

The role is focussed on assessing and defining organisational needs, implementing employee development strategies and programs, driving the implementation of the performance and talent cycles and contributing to the development of a high-performance work environment that aligns with Squadron Energy’s (SQE) strategic objectives and values. This role may involve travel to other office locations and sites to engage and liaise with broader Squadron Energy (SQE) teams and relevant stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Partner with the P&C Leadership Team and key organisational stakeholders to establish an integrated approach to performance, employee development, talent and succession management that will optimise employee performance, build SQE’s capability and reinforce behaviours to support a sustainable, high-performance culture.

Develop and implement change initiatives, systems, processes and coaching for leaders to embed high performance ways of working, including goal setting, continuous feedback and employee development practices.

Develop and implement a comprehensive learning and development strategy aligned with the SQE’s organisational strategy, high-performance framework and the organisational capability framework.

Collaborate with P&C Business Partners and team managers to assess current and desired capabilities, prioritise gaps based on organisational objectives and recommended holistic training and development solutions that deliver measurable shifts in target capabilities.

Create and manage leadership development interventions and programs to enhance management capabilities and prepare future leaders.

Implement talent and succession planning processes and tools to identify high potential employees and establish robust talent pools for future leadership and critical business roles.

Develop, facilitate and manage the implementation of customised learning and development programs, including workshops, coaching, eLearning modules and induction modules. Ensure that learning programs and materials leverage the best practice in learning and development, are culturally relevant, up-to-date, and meet legal and industry standards.

Manage learning and development budgets and resources effectively, and ensure Squadron gains optimal return on L&D investment by evaluating and continuously improving the effectiveness of training initiatives and learning interventions (through feedback, assessments and performance metrics).

Promote a culture of continuous learning, and support employee engagement and retention, through defined career development pathways, mentorship, coaching and targeted professional and personal development.

Maintain accurate records of training programs, attendance, and progress in Workday.

Experience and knowledge

Strong experience in managing the design, development, delivery and evaluation of organisational development, performance, talent management and learning and development strategies, programs and activities

Proven experience working in a fast-paced work environment

Strong experience in supporting a high-performance culture through integrated learning, talent management, career development and performance management frameworks and strategies practices and strategies

Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other training technologies

Skills

Personal drive, resilience and creative problem solving

Excellent communication, facilitation and interpersonal skills

Well-developed written communication skills, including writing for a range of purposes and audiences from community to government

Demonstrated organisational skills including prioritising tasks, managing multiple projects efficiently in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment

Ability to meet tight deadlines, work without supervision and manage a diverse workload, together with strong conceptual, analytical and research skills

Strong team player with proven ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Learning and Development, Organisational Development or equivalent relevant work experience.
