The client

Salary: $90K-$100K + Super + Overtime
Hours: Monday to Friday, 5:30am-3:30pm

The role

As the Production & Workshop Supervisor, you will lead a team of fabricators, assemblers, fitters, auto electricians and QA to complete timely jobs. Reporting to a knowledgeable and supportive Production Manager, you will:

• Review daily and weekly jobs and coordinate the workflow to ensure production schedules are completed on time
• Lead the daily production meeting and assign jobs to staff
• Monitor performance and daily outputs to ensure KPIs and company targets are achieved
• Review current processes and procedures and implement LEAN manufacturing to improve performance and reduce waste across all departments
• Work closely with purchasing and warehousing to ensure that all stock and raw materials are made available and ready for the completion of jobs and major projects
• Work with the Production Manager to plan and schedule work according to stock and material availability, and the expected time of delivery for vehicles
• Contribute to the development of company-wide SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) that assist with the onboarding and training of new and existing staff
• Update the ERP/PMS (Production Management System) to ensure all data is captured for management reports
• Utilise your production and workshop management experience to resolve daily issues

The requirements

• Proven production and workshop management experience, preferably from a steel or aluminium fabrication environment (automotive trays and accessories experience will be highly regarded)
• Experience implementing and managing LEAN manufacturing and continuous improvement principles
• Strong people leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and drive change
• Excellent mechanical and technical skills with an understanding of production machinery and tools required to fabricate, assemble and install products onto vehicles
• Exceptional attention to detail with an ability to manage production tasks to ensure compliance and quality standards are achieved
• Proficient experience using the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and an ERP/MRP/PMS system
