Shift Supervisor - Night Shift | Food Manufacturing
Elizabeth, SA
Base Salary: $75,000 + 30% Night Shift Loading + Superannuation
Night Shift: Sunday 10pm - Friday 6am
About the Company
Our client is a well-established and reputable food manufacturer based in Elizabeth, SA. With a strong focus on quality, innovation, and teamwork, they are committed to delivering high-quality products and maintaining the highest standards in food safety and manufacturing.
They are currently seeking an experienced and hands-on Shift Supervisor to lead their night shift operations. This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative team and play a key role in the smooth running of production.
The Opportunity
As the Shift Supervisor, you'll oversee a night shift team of approximately 20-25 production workers, including a maintenance fitter and a QC officer. Your role is to ensure that production runs efficiently and effectively, with quality and safety at the forefront.
You'll be responsible for coordinating staffing, maintaining GMP and WHS standards, reporting, and liaising with cross-functional departments to resolve issues and improve performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise production staff during the night shift.
- Ensure appropriate staffing and task allocation for each shift.
- Monitor and maintain compliance with WHS, GMP, and company policies.
- Collaborate with Line Supervisors, Maintenance, QC, and the Production Manager to resolve production and equipment issues.
- Prepare and submit shift reports, including productivity, downtime, cleaning, and attendance.
- Maintain clean, organised production areas.
- Conduct on-the-job training and keep accurate training records.
- Participate in stocktakes and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Take a hands-on approach to supporting production lines when needed.
- Address employee performance issues in consultation with management.
About You
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within food manufacturing or a similar environment.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail with the ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and high-performing workplace.
- Flexible and adaptable team player.
- HACCP and first aid certification (desirable).
- Member of OH&S committee (desirable).
