Drive culture, elevate the employee experience, and help shape the future of our team.

At Preston Mazda, we believe that culture drives performance — and we're looking for a passionate Payroll / HR Coordinator to help us bring that to life every day.

This is a rare opportunity to step into a hands-on, standalone HR role, reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer. You’ll influence every stage of the employee lifecycle, working with autonomy and ownership to drive people-first initiatives that have real impact.

If you’re proactive, people-focused, and excited to make a difference in a fast-paced, values-led environment — we want to hear from you.

What You'll Do

Deliver a seamless employee experience across recruitment, onboarding, training, engagement, performance, and offboarding.

Manage all HR administration — including maintaining employee records, optimising systems, and ensuring legislative compliance.

Process end-to-end fortnightly payroll for up to 120 employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance (including PAYG, superannuation, and payroll tax).

Complete end-of-month and end-of-year payroll requirements.

Administer and oversee the Workforce TNA time management system — including manager support, employee training, and system integrity.

Oversee OHS compliance and company policies relating to employee safety and wellbeing.

Provide first-line HR advice and practical support to managers on policies, procedures, and people-related matters.

Work across two sites in Preston and South Morang, as directed by management.

What You Bring

Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.

2–3 years’ experience in a HR support or people-focused role — preferably in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Strong knowledge of end-to-end HR processes, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Excellent interpersonal skills — approachable, discreet, and able to build trust at all levels.

Experience in payroll processing (familiarity with Unipay and Workforce TNA is an advantage).

A solid understanding of the Fair Work Act, National Employment Standards (NES), and Modern Awards.

Confidence in drafting and advising on HR documentation including contracts, policies, and procedures.

Automotive industry experience is a plus, but not essential.

Full Australian working rights.

What You’ll Get

Competitive salary package

A vibrant, inclusive team culture where your contributions are valued

A paid day off for your birthday — because celebrating you matters

Special recognition perks after 5 years of service

The opportunity to help shape a growing, people-first business

Let’s Drive the Future Together

This is more than an HR support role — it’s your chance to lead with heart, act with purpose, and leave a meaningful impact.

Apply now and take the driver’s seat in your HR career.
